The Race takes place on the Murray River between Torrumbarry and Echuca on the second Sunday in February each year. The event is a two up water ski race, which covers the river from Torrumbarry to Echuca.
There are over 120 bends in this part of the river. The race attracts over 400 entries from all over Australia with international representation from New Zealand, Great Britain and the USA.
The 2009 Southern 80 will be held February 6th - 8th on the Murray River between Torrumbarry and Echuca where there are 120 bends. As the largest water ski race in the world the event attracts over 260 boats.
The Finish Line at Victoria Park boat ramp is fully catered for with food, drinks and trade displays to wander through. The Freestyle Motocross Show by Southside Promotions featuring Crusty Demon riders will be displaying some of their talents on motorbikes through out the day in the Trade area. Marvel at their daring, be awed by their riding.
A two day pass which is $30 and under 16 years of age is free, when accompanied by an adult.
